Double Bill: Violent Delights / The Silence of the Sushi Rolls

Violent Delights: Edin Alain Martinez, 2020, 90 mins

The Silence of the Sushi Rolls: Motosugu Watanabe, 2001, 62 mins

Our first double bill brings you sex AND horror for $6.66!

Violent Delights tells the story of a vampire couple who are getting a bit tired of each other, this being one of the drawbacks of immortality. Alani, the female vampire wants a baby but Gabriel, the male vampire, doesn’t and so they row. To resolve things they decide to invite a few friends over for dinner and then things go from nasty to batshit crazy… Imagine what a mash-up of Jean Rollin’s Requiem of a Vampire and Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Santa Sangre might look like and then add even more blood, sex and gore and lace it with strong hallucinogenics and you start to get the basics of Violent Delights, a new Mexican vampire film by director Edin Alain Martinez. The whole film is dreamlike, unworldly and unstructured but holds together well.

Gropers and Tokyo’s Sexy S.W.A.T. team battle it out on the cities trains in The Silence of the Sushi Rolls! This is part homage and part spoof of the Silence of the Lambs, though in this case, the villain is a pervert who is hanging out on the Tokyo subway using a hi-tech brain manipulation device to molest women! These perverse activities come to the attention of Tokyo’s sex crimes unit and S.W.A.T. team detective Claire is put on the case! With the help of the world-famous professor Dr Honeybar Nectar, Claire will uncover an intricate plot of epic proportions, leading all the way up to the Japanese prime minister! Justice in the form of extreme vaginoplasty (that must be seen to be believed!) is served and Claire will finally be able to silence the sushi rolls screaming in her mind. More hilarious Pinku shenanigans from the master of Pinku Mototsugu Watanabe.
